These include:

Extending its Ochama delivery services to 19 new countries.

Broadening its Delivery Services in Hong Kong and Macau making shopping easier for JD.com’s customers.

Acquiring Five Logistics Assets in Singapore.

Launching Cargo Flights connecting cities including Shenzhen and Ho Chi Minh City.

Ochama Expands Delivery Services to 19 New Countries

In October 2023, the omnichannel retailer Ochama announced the expanision of its home delivery services to 19 new countries. This expansion will develop Ochama’s presence across Europe and strengthen its focus on making shopping more accessible.

The additional countries that Ochama will cover include Bulgaria, Austria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Denmark, Greece, Finland, Ireland, Hungary, Latvia, Italy, Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Portugal, Spain, Slovenia, and Sweden.

Richard Liu’s JD.com launched Ochama in the Netherlands in 2022. The company has already transformed the retail world with a model that combines online and offline shopping experiences. Customers can collect their orders from Ochama’s pickup points or opt for the company’s dependable home delivery service.

Now available in 24 countries, Ochama packs all orders at its automated warehouse in the Netherlands before shipping these orders across Europe.

Customers in the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium can collect their purchases the day after ordering at over 500 pickup locations. Ochama is now working with vendors to open new flexible pickup time slots for added convenience.

JD Logistics Develops its Delivery Services in Macau and Hong Kong

October also saw JD Logistics announce the development of its self-operated express delivery business in Macau and Hong Kong.

JD Logistics is a standalone subsidiary of JD.com operating one of the largest logistics networks of any e-commerce company worldwide.  JD Logistics operates its Macau and Hong Kong delivery business through JD Express.

The extended Macau and Hong Kong delivery network will involve multiple new operations centers which will offer:

  • Quick intra-city express delivery in both regions.
  • Express delivery between the two regions.
  • Express delivery between both regions and Mainland China.

JD.com offers value-driven customer services including complimentary doorstep delivery and expedited intra-city deliveries in four hours. Customers can also use JD.com’s extended nighttime delivery hours, which are now available until 10 p.m.

In Macau, customers can receive intra-city packages the next  morning after placing their orders.

Jingdong Property Co-Acquires a Logistics Portfolio in Singapore

Jingdong Property and EZA Hill Property Management, acquired a logistics portfolio from ESR-Logos REIT at around SG$350 million, including land premium.

Jingdong Property and EZA Hill have launched Primus Partners Management Asia “Primus” as an operating platform to manage the portfolio.

The portfolio includes five logistics assets totalling 1.9 million square feet of gross floor area (GFA) across logistics clusters in Singapore.

JD Airlines Launches Cargo Flights That Connect Multiple Regions

JD Logistics’ air cargo division, JD Airlines announced its inaugural international all-cargo route connecting Shenzhen, China, and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. JD Airlines carried out its first flight on a B737-800BCF cargo aircraft, marking a key milestone since JD Airlines launched its operations in October 2022.

JD Airlines will operates the trade route on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays with the airline service company CSAA. The route will support transporting cross-border e-commerce deliveries between China and Vietnam and enables the shipment of agricultural exports including seafood and fruit.   JD Airlines will use its air cargo network to move products to other regions across the North, South, and East of China.

JD Airlines plans to expand further, adding routes that connect to key markets in Japan, South Korea, South and Southeast Asia, and other areas.
